Havelock hasn't had much luck against South Central recently, but that could start to change  on Thursday.  Jaylen Hewitt was  his usual excellent self,  dropping  a double-double on 21 points and 19  rebounds. His evening made it four games in a row in which  he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Chris Strong, who  went 7 for 16  en route to 16  points and eight  boards.
 Havelock was working as a unit and  finished the game with 20  assists. That's the most  assists they've posted  since  the start of last season.
 Meanwhile,  everything came up roses for South Central against D.H. Conley on Wednesday as the  team secured  a  77-44 win. Given the Falcons' advantage  in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings  (they are ranked 168th, while the Vikings are ranked 386th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 South Central's victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 12-8. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Havelock, their record is now 9-6.
 Havelock was dealt a bruising  84-57 defeat at the hands of South Central when the teams last played  last Wednesday. Can Havelock avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
