The T.L. Hanna Yellow Jackets had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They strolled past Wren with points to spare, taking the game 86-70. Given T.L. Hanna's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Wren is ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the defeat, Wren had strong showings from Abijah Franklin, who scored 30 points along with 7 rebounds, and Jeremiah Campbell, who scored 18 points. The matchup was Franklin's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Cherry, who scored 8 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds.
T.L. Hanna has yet to lose a matchup on the road this season, leaving them with a 7-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Wren, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
T.L. Hanna won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Daniel at 7:30 p.m. on December 6th. Hopefully Daniel focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Monday. As for Wren, they will be playing in front of their home fans against J.L. Mann at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. J.L. Mann knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Wren likes a good challenge.
