The Eastern Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Shelby County Rockets at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eastern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Eastern's last matchup with North Bullitt could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. Eastern lost 13-5 to North Bullitt. The defeat was just more heartbreak for Eastern, who fell 8-6 when the teams last met back in April of 2023.

Ethan Carroll made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. Alex Hack also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Shelby County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Woodford County by a score of 4-1 on Wednesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Foster Whisman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Shelby County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaleb Oskins, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits Oskins has posted since back in March.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for Shelby County, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.

Eastern came out on top in a nail-biter against Shelby County when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
