Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bernalillo). They put the hurt on the Del Norte Knights with a sharp 24-1 win on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won four matchups in a row.
Calandria Montoya made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
