The Del Sol Dragons are taking a road trip to face off against the Spring Valley Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Del Sol is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
Del Sol is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Mojave, who was ranked 18th at the time (Del Sol was ranked 15th). The Dragons were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Rattlers on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Dragons have posted against the Rattlers since April 7, 2022.
While Del Sol won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-16, 25-19.

Del Sol can attribute much of their success to Xander Besser, who had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Besser a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Spring Valley had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Chaparral on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Grizzlies have posted since April 2nd.
Spring Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-22, 16-14.
Spring Valley's record now sits at 5-12. As for Del Sol, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-8.
Del Sol took their victory against Spring Valley in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
