Kendall Christie was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. Christie was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Kendal Maher and Cora Inboden did most of the damage at the plate: Maher scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Inboden went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits Inboden has posted since back in May of 2024. Gabby White was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, while Floyd Central put up some runs last Tuesday, the same can't be said for Corydon Central. The Highlanders came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 2-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Highlanders have posted against the Panthers since May 17, 2017.
The team relied heavily on Elise Coleman, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. Kiersten Fiedler also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Floyd Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matchups.
North Harrison's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Floyd Central, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
