The North Delta Green Wave will head out to challenge the Grenada Chargers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Grenada will be up against a hot North Delta team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. North Delta put the hurt on Lee Academy with a sharp 14-4 win on Thursday.

Owens Johnson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5. He has become a key player for North Delta: the team is 8-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise.
In other batting news, Herron Williams was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Jett Manning also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
North Delta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grenada). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Lake Cormorant a 17-0 shutout on Friday. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.
Grenada also got a great performance from Eli Housel as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Housel a new career-low in walks (zero).
On the hitting side, Daniel Hopper was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Ty Edwards was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
North Delta's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Grenada, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-5.
Both North Delta and Grenada just can't seem to miss. North Delta has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Grenada struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Delta suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Grenada in their previous matchup back in February. Can North Delta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
