The Hancock Panthers just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Hundred Hornets at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hancock is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season.
On Friday, everything went Hancock's way against Hyndman Charter School as Hancock made off with a 44-23 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 293rd in Maryland, while the Hornets are ranked 759th in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hancock's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jacob Anderson, who posted 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals, and Tucker Welch, who put up ten points and eight boards. Hancock is 2-1 when Anderson posts three or more steals, but 4-7 otherwise. Hunter Kerns was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.
Meanwhile, Hundred ended up a good deal behind Valley on Wednesday and lost 82-65. The Hornets were down 60-37 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Hancock will need to focus on slowing down Colt Sandy, one of several Hundred players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 19 points and 27 rebounds. With that strong performance, Sandy is now averaging an impressive 2.2 blocks per game. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Huggins, who went 9 of 17 en route to 26 points and seven boards.
Even though they lost, Hundred smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.
Hancock's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Hundred, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Hancock has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Hundred struggles in that department as they've been averaging 41.1 boards.
