Florin waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They breezed past the Armijo Royals to the tune of 38-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 19-14 back in September.
Florin had a senior duo take command as Jayda Lewis threw for 118 yards and four TDs and Zavanna Payne picked up 71 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Janiya Brister made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Florin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Brister picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Florin now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Armijo, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
