Having just played yesterday, the Westchester Country Day Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Cape Fear Academy Hurricanes at 2:00 p.m. on December 21st. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Wednesday, Westchester Country Day beat Coastal Christian 59-47. The victory was all the more spectacular given Westchester Country Day's disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 407th, while Coastal Christian is ranked 77th).
Cape Fear Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Living Water Christian on Friday as Cape Fear Academy made off with a 62-41 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cape Fear Academy.
Cape Fear Academy relied on the efforts of Thomas Watkins, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds, and Kareem Anderson, who scored 16 points along with five assists and three steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Angelo Vega, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Westchester Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Cape Fear Academy, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
