Basketball Recap: Bloomfield Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Benjamin Dodge and Keldon Loecker

Bloomfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a hard 61-45 fall against the Plainview Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Bees can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Pirates are ranked 96th).

Keldon Loecker and Benjamin Dodge certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Loecker went 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to six boards and five assists, while Dodge went 7 of 9 en route to 17 points and six rebounds. Those five assists gave Loecker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Beau Eisenhauer, who posted three points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Bloomfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Plainview, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Bloomfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-40 victory against Randolph on the 21st. As for Plainview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-48 win against West Holt on the 21st.
