The Grace Christian Crusaders put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 80-39 victory over Wesleyan Christian Academy. Given Grace Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Wesleyan Christian Academy is ranked 57th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grace Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sarah Strong, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Strong hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Isabella "Isa" Roman, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Grace Christian pushed their record up to 19-0 with that victory, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Wesleyan Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
Grace Christian will be playing at home against Bishop McGuinness at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop McGuinness is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Wesleyan Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Caldwell Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 17th. Caldwell Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
