After losing to the Jeff Davis Yellowjackets the last time they met, the Atkinson County Rebels decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Atkinson County came out on top against Jeff Davis by a score of 37-26 on Friday. Given Atkinson County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while Jeff Davis is ranked 456th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Atkinson County was led to victory by Kamari Moore and Ja'Kari Northcutt. Moore scored 15 points, while Northcutt scored 15 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Moore has scored at least 25% of Atkinson County's points.
The win makes it two in a row for Atkinson County and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Jeff Davis, they have yet to win a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 1-6 record.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atkinson County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Echols County at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Jeff Davis, they will take on Toombs County at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
