The Madeira MUSTANGS/AMAZONS will head out on the road to take on the Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Madeira's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Taylor by a score of 4-0.
Madeira's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carson Shafer, who went 3-for-4 with two triples and two runs. Those two triples gave Shafer a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Miami Valley Christian Academy entered their tilt with Goshen on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Warriors.
The team relied heavily on Evan Lafferty, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Luke Autry was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Miami Valley Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Madeira is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Miami Valley Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Madeira has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Miami Valley Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Madeira came up short against Miami Valley Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 6-3. Can the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
