The Gooding Senators will face off against the Wendell Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gooding is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Gooding and Kimberly had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Senators came up short against the Bulldogs on Wednesday, falling 14-4.
Cason Page made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Ike Scoffield, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Wendell came up short against Declo on Wednesday and fell 6-3.
Krew Prince was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Zayden Rogers was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Wendell's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-7. As for Gooding, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Gooding has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wendell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Gooding got the 'W' in their previous meeting two weeks ago against Wendell by a conclusive 22-14 score. Do the Senators have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
