The Sandoval Blackhawks have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Dupo 69-37 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Sandoval has managed all season.
Leading Sandoval to victory were Drew Gore and Austin Hoffman. Gore almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 steals, while Hoffman scored 22 points. Hoffman is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Armoni Dempsey, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Sandoval's victory bumped their record up to 9-20. As for Dupo, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-21.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sandoval will square off against Wayne City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wayne City is coming into the game with three straight defeats at home, meaning Sandoval will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Dupo, they and Valmeyer will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
