Turner is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Whitewater is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Trojans will welcome the Whippets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Turner is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.
Turner had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Big Foot on Thursday. The Trojans' pitcher stepped up to hand the Chiefs a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Baileigh Anderson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. Anderson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double. That's the most hits she has posted over her last five games.
In other batting news, Jayla Jackson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Maddy Hoenig was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Turner hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Whitewater hadn't done well against Monroe recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Whippets came out on top against the Cheesemakers by a score of 8-5.
Like Turner, Whitewater also got a great game from a two-way player: Paige Kollwelter. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Kollwelter has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jennifer Gosh, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Turner's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Whitewater, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
Turner got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Whitewater by a conclusive 18-2 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Whippets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
