AAAAAA Region 8 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Grayson extended the longest winning streak in AAAAAA Region 8 this week by beating Archer, 48-0. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Rams.
Grayson took down the Tigers 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Parkview's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mac Marshall threw for 104 and two touchdowns and Demonte Dawson had 41 yards receiving. On the ground Justis Rosser chipped in 116 yards. Keanu Mole helped Parkview's passing attack out by catching two balls for 38 yards.
Central Gwinnett's Eman Westmoreland and Justin Brownlee have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Westmoreland has thrown for 1743 yards this season, while Brownlee, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 61 catches for 920 yards. The Panthers' Chris Carson leads the league in rushing yards with 1100.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Mickey Conn's team and Brookwood. The Rams enters the game ranked second in the state, while the Broncos ranks 25th.
Brownlee of the the Black Knights' is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 80 receiving yards in this week's game against Shiloh to get there.
Grayson led AAAAAA Region 8 in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on Archer.
