The Our Lady of the Elms Panthers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 39-31 win over Mentor Christian.
Pilar Hampton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Faith Farris, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
The win got Our Lady of the Elms back to even at 7-7. As for Mentor Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Our Lady of the Elms will head out on the road to challenge the Ironmen at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Ohio (Cleveland Central Catholic is ranked 695th, while the Panthers are ranked 686th). As for Mentor Christian, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st. Hopefully Medina Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Tuesday.
