Ozona extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 6-15. They lost 13-6 to the Reagan County Owls. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Owls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-3 on Friday.
Mercedes Perez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Kaydee Timms was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
As for Reagan County, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.
On Reagan County's side, Brooklynn Reyes was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Reyes has posted since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Marianna Aguilar and Vanessa Ortiz did most of the damage at the plate: Aguilar went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Ortiz went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits Aguilar has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Aguilar, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Coming up, Ozona will challenge Forsan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Reagan County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
