The Shea Pawtucket will head out to challenge the Narragansett Mariners at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Shea will be strutting in after a victory while Narragansett will be coming in after a loss.
Shea barely beat Hope the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pawtucket's pitcher stepped up to hand the Blue Wave a 17-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Pawtucket have won three contests by more than 12 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Taylor Kane was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Gianna Quinones was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025. Genesis Morales was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Shea always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Narragansett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Davies Career & Tech, falling 20-10. While the Mariners didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Patriots 5-1 in the first period.
Shea's record is now 4-1. As for Narragansett, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Shea suffered a grim 22-5 defeat to Narragansett when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Pawtucket avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
