The biggest upset of the week belonged to North Miami, who took down 105th ranked Hialeah, 21-2. Charles Romane ran for 138 yards and caught two passes for 75 yards in the win.
Keon Roman and Orlando Olivera provided fans with a highlight when they connected against North Miami Beach. The longest such play in 8A District 13 this season, the connection resulted in 78 yards.
Dr. Krop's dynamic duo of Roman and Olivera proved tough for the Chargers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Roman threw for 280 yards and one touchdown and Olivera had 88 yards receiving. Jovon Durante helped Dr. Krop's passing attack out by catching three balls for 76 yards.
5-foot-10 quarterback Roman of the Lightning is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1037. He has also thrown nine touchdowns. On the ground, the Pioneers' Romane has rushed for 430 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Nesley Ostral. The North Miami star has 16 catches for 443 yards.
North Miami moved up to 194 from 258 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 21-2 win over the Thoroughbreds helped Ed Williams' team improve its standing.
