The Bristol Panthers will take on the Chalker Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
Bristol is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering St. John just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Fighting Herald by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 18, 2024.
Mycie Workman put in work no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Workman was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 4-for-5.
Workman wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alexa Atchison, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another was Ellie Anderson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Chalker made easy work of Windham on Friday and carried off a 15-4 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Bombers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Like Bristol, Chalker also got a great game from a two-way player: Riley Ashcraft. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Ashcraft was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Kelsey Kren was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Abby Grimm was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Chalker's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Bristol, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Bristol couldn't quite finish off Chalker in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 9-7. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
