The Chieftains were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Crimson Streaks. The win continues a trend for the Chieftains in their matchups with the Crimson Streaks: they've now won eight in a row.
Araceli Velasquez made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She also put up three hits, which were her first of the season. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Gibsonburg got themselves on the board against St. Mary Central Catholic on Monday, but St. Mary Central Catholic never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 21-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Golden Bears, who have now won three matchups in a row.
Like Hopewell-Loudon, Gibsonburg also got a great game from a two-way player: Ava Amor. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI and two runs.

Gibsonburg now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Hopewell-Loudon, their record is now 7-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hopewell-Loudon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Gibsonburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
