Softball Recap: Delcambre Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Delcambre entered their tilt with Franklin on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Franklin Hornets a 16-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Addilynn Frederick was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

In other batting news, Delcambre got a massive performance out of Adelyn Deville, who scored three runs and stole Seven bases. The dominant performance gave Deville a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Fauntleroy, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Delcambre's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Franklin, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Delcambre Panthers face off against St. Martinville Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Loreauville at 5:00 p.m.
