The Horizon Hawks pushed their score all the way to 62 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-62 to Broomfield. While losing is never fun, Horizon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Broomfield is ranked 26th).
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aiden Greene, who scored 16 points. Greene continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Greene, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Horizon has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Broomfield, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.
Horizon will look to defend their home court on Friday against Erie at 6:30 p.m. As for Broomfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Fort Collins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Fort Collins' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups.
