The Veritas Prep Falcons were the 66-40 winner over the Anthem Prep Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Veritas Prep fell 48-36 to Anthem Prep on Tuesday. Veritas Prep has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.
Despite the loss, Veritas Prep still got an impressive performance from Casen Lentz, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Lentz has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Perry, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.
Anthem Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Titus Franklin, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Cole Schirm, who scored eight points.
Veritas Prep's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 13-6. As for Anthem Prep, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.
Veritas Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face Scottsdale Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for Anthem Prep, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against North Phoenix Preparatory Academy at 7:30 p.m.
