Kalamazoo Christian will be up against a hot Hackett Catholic Prep team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Fighting Irish blew past Comstock 18-3 on Friday. The Fighting Irish's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Alexa Rosell was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ally Oldman, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Kalamazoo Christian got themselves on the board against Lawton on Friday, but Lawton never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over the Blue Devils. The victory continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won nine in a row.
Allison Howes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Howes was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Kalamazoo Christian got a massive performance out of Ellie Hoeksema, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Alexis Earley was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.
Kalamazoo Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawton only posted an OBP of .182.
Kalamazoo Christian pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Hackett Catholic Prep, their record is now 4-0.
Hackett Catholic Prep suffered a grim 20-0 defeat to Kalamazoo Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Fighting Irish avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
