The Middle Park Panthers had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a serious blow against DSST: Green Valley Ranch on Friday, falling 62-25. Middle Park was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-11.
Despite the loss, Middle Park still got an impressive performance from Marqes Pasillas, who scored 7 points.
Middle Park struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as DSST: Green Valley Ranch racked up 11.
DSST: Green Valley Ranch can attribute much of their success to Jovonnie Babineaux, who scored 19 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Tong Bot, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Middle Park's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Middle Park will head out on the road to face off against Kent Denver at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Kent Denver focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, they will take on Banning Lewis Academy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
