The Pamlico County Hurricanes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They breezed by Jones on the road to the tune of 84-40. That looming 84-40 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Pamlico County yet this season.
It was another big night for Braylen Ollison, who scored 17 points along with seven steals and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Tariq Barber, who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Despite the defeat, Jones had strong showings from Keonte' Roberts, who scored ten points along with nine steals and eight rebounds, and Gabriel Butler, who scored 12 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Roberts pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dylon Darke, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Pamlico County now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Jones, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Southside the next time they take the court. Jones will head out to face Southside at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Pamlico County will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
