This season hasn't been kind to the Pen Argyl Green Knights, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They took a hard 47-31 fall against Bangor on Wednesday. Pen Argyl lost against Bangor in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 56-39 score last time.
Pen Argyl's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Kennedy, who scored ten points along with four steals. Kennedy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Soos, who scored ten points.
Pen Argyl struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Pen Argyl bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Bangor, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pen Argyl will be home for the holidays to greet Lehighton at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Bangor will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wilson Area at 6:45 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
