Basketball Recap: Ava Giordano's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Depaul College Prep over Trinity

After flying high against Resurrection on Monday, DePaul College Prep came back down to earth. The DePaul College Prep Rams fell 57-49 to the Trinity Blazers on Tuesday. The defeat was just more heartbreak for the Rams, who fell 48-46 when the teams last met back in February of 2024.

DePaul College Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ava Giordano, who posted 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Giordano a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlin Totaro, who put up 13 points.

DePaul College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Trinity, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

DePaul College Prep will take on Aurora Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. DePaul College Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season. As for Trinity, they will challenge Saint Ignatius College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Saint Ignatius College Prep will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Trinity surely won't give up without a fight.
