4A Conference 8 recap September 4, 2013
Jameel Mack and Tim Gorham provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Asheboro. The longest such play in 4A Conference 8 this season, the connection resulted in 60 yards.
East Forsyth was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Eagles triumphed over Parkland 56-0.
Karson Sharpe and Antwone Vance gave East Forsyth a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Sharpe threw for 211 yards and 4 touchdowns, while Vance ran for 141 yards. Teammate Cory Richie added to the ground attack by rushing for 69 yards.
Sharpe and Vance gave Todd Willert's team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.
Vance was the best running back in the league this week.
Sharpe put up the best numbers in passing as the Eagles topped the Mustangs. Sharpe's favorite target this week was Ace Miller, who caught 3 passes for 118 yards.
Mack was a passing and rushing force as High Point Central bested the Blue Comets. He completed 12 passes for 222 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 84 yards. Mack's favorite target this week was Gorham, who caught 5 passes for 120 yards.
Gorham was the best wideout in 4A Conference 8 this week as the Bison defeated Asheboro. Charles Edmond helped High Point Central's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 73 yards.
Southwest Guilford fell to T.W. Andrews 66-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
