Softball Recap: Carlson Gets the Win

Carlson took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Airport, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Marauders had just enough and edged out the Jets 3-2 on Saturday. That's two games straight that the Marauders have won by just one run.

Addison Butt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Carlson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabelle Salas, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Carlson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Airport, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-2 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlson will face off against Whiteford at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Airport, they will challenge Riverview at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
