The Coronado Thunderbirds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Franklin on the road by a decisive 56-41 margin. Coronado has not had much luck with Franklin recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Coronado still got an impressive performance from Kaleb Finn, who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Dalla Pozza, who scored five points.
It was another big night for Ethan Martinez, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds for Franklin. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jazhiel Herrera, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Coronado's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-14. As for Franklin, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-5.
Coronado will be playing in front of their home fans against Eastlake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastlake will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to face off against Americas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Americas is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
