The Centennial Knights were the 32-23 winner over the Chattahoochee Cougars when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Centennial fell to Chattahoochee 53-48.
Centennial lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jasmine Perez, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Diamond Leslie, who scored 14 points.
Chattahoochee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Berninger out in front who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Berninger is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooklinne Dorr, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Centennial has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which is still a better percentage than their 5-16 record this season. As for Chattahoochee, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will take on Cambridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chattahoochee, they will be playing at home against North Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chattahoochee is facing North Springs at the right time seeing as North Springs is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
