The Lake Roosevelt Raiders will be home for the holidays to greet the Brewster Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lake Roosevelt's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Last Tuesday, Lake Roosevelt earned a 61-52 win over Liberty Bell. Given Lake Roosevelt's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while Liberty Bell is ranked 251st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Liberty Bell scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, Brewster still came out on top. Brewster took their game against Liberty Bell 69-60. With that victory, Brewster brought their scoring average up to 52 points per game.
Brewster can attribute much of their success to Brady Wulf, who scored 30 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wulf has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Karden Gebbers, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Lake Roosevelt's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Brewster, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Lake Roosevelt won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February, slipping by Brewster 62-61. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Brewster's Kelson Gebbers, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Lake Roosevelt to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
