Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school football. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2024 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Koi Fagan of
Martinsburg is the 2024 MaxPreps West Virginia High School Football Player of the Year. The 6-foot, 175-pound senior quarterback led the Bulldogs to a 14-0 record and Class AAAA state title.
For the season, Fagan threw for 2,264 yards and 33 touchdowns while running for 1,836 yards and 28 more scores. In four playoff games he accounted for 1,176 yards of total offense and 17 TDs.

Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team.
