The Taylor Titans's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Clinton Prairie Gophers at 2:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Taylor focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Thursday.
Even though Taylor has not done well against the Comets recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Taylor strolled past the Comets with points to spare, taking the game 45-30.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Taylor to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Hall, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Hall is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Javionne Harris was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Clinton Prairie had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.6 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They walked away with a 54-42 win over North Montgomery. Given Clinton Prairie's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Chargin' Chargers are ranked 334th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Taylor is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Clinton Prairie, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Taylor strolled past the Gophers in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 55-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Taylor since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
