After a string of five wins, The Richlands Wildcats''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 33-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of White Oak. Richlands was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as White Oak apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Caleb Simco rushed for four yards and two touchdowns. Mekhi Mack was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, Isaiah Graham rushed for 74 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead White Oak to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tareavion Mageo #4, who rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown. Joshua Smith was another key contributor, throwing for 102 yards and a touchdown on only eight passes.
Richlands' loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for White Oak, their win was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richlands will take on Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for White Oak, they will head out on the road to face off against Swansboro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Swansboro is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
