Hudsonville faced Rockford in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Eagles took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rams this season,  with their most recent  defeat being a  2-0  loss  on Saturday.
 Hudsonville started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-16,  25-15.
 Leah Burlison paced Hudsonville's offense, picking up 17 kills. Burlison got some help from  Sofie Sanders and her 34 assists. Finally,  Megan Glass kept Hudsonville's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.
 Rockford was led to victory by  Anna Dady and  Izzie Delacher.  Dady  had 18  digs and four assists, while  Delacher  hit 100% for five  kills and 41  assists and nine  digs. That's the most  kills  Delacher has posted  over her last six  matches.
This is the second loss in a row for Hudsonville and  nudges their season record down to 25-8-1. As for Rockford, the  win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 31-1.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hudsonville will host Grandville  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Rockford, after both having extra time off, they and Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out  at 6:30  p.m.  on  the 30th.
