The West Park Panthers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Woodcreek Timberwolves at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (West Park: 3.2, Woodcreek: 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Woodcreek will be up against a hot West Park squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. West Park came out on top against Twelve Bridges by a score of 6-1 on Tuesday. That looming 6-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.
Jessica Cochran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

On the hitting side, Jolene White was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Huston, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
West Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Woodcreek made sure to put some runs up on the board against Casa Roble on Tuesday. Everything went Woodcreek's way against Casa Roble as Woodcreek made off with a 14-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won four in a row.
Woodcreek also let their pitcher toss all six innings played and she was also dialed-in: Chloe Schmidt-Wolf gave up four earned runs on nine hits. Schmidt-Wolf has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Camryn Kelley, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that she hit this season. Sarah Richards was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
West Park's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Woodcreek, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. West Park hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Woodcreek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
