The Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks will face off against the Bozeman Bucks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Port St. Joe came up short against Leon and fell 21-13. The Tiger Sharks gained 88 more yards on the day, but it was the Lions that made the best use of them.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Eli Harris, who rushed for 115 yards and one score, and also threw for 118 yards and one TD. Corban Butts was another key rusher, rushing for 151 yards.
While Port St. Joe came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Leon: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 47.6%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Zay Jenkins, Jayden Reese, and Bradley Powell, who each logged one passes deflected. Port St. Joe hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.43 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Bozeman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 20-19 heartbreaker at the hands of Sneads.
Port St. Joe will have to contain Hayden Gay as he made an impact in Bozeman's last game. He rushed for 114 yards on only 11 carries, and also threw for 54 yards and one touchdown.
Port St. Joe's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Bozeman, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Port St. Joe has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 357.5 total yards per game. It's a different story for Bozeman, though, as they've been averaging only 238.2 total yards. Will Port St. Joe be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Bucks flip the script?
Port St. Joe couldn't quite finish off Bozeman when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 21-18. Will the Tiger Sharks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other football content.
