The South Lake Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 38 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 57-19 victory over Tavares at home. The win was just what South Lake needed coming off of a 67-28 defeat in their prior match.
South Lake's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aniyah Wilmore, who scored ten points along with eight assists and six steals. Wilmore also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Jazmine Monroe was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
South Lake's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Tavares, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Lake won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wiregrass Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Wiregrass Ranch is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Tavares, they will be playing at home against South Sumter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
