Eastmoor Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Stephon Simpkins, who scored 16 points. King Moody was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Africentric Early College put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They breezed by Briggs on the road to the tune of 80-48. Given Africentric Early College's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Briggs is ranked 606th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Eastmoor Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Africentric Early College, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Eastmoor Academy might still be hurting after the 74-52 defeat they got from Africentric Early College when the teams last played back in January. Can Eastmoor Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
