AAA Region 2 recap October 22, 2013
Tyler Gibson of Peach County ran for the longest rushing play in AAA Region 2 this season against Central last week. Gibson's team bested the Chargers as he sprinted for 88 yards on the play and finished with 88 in all.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Peach County beat Central 35-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Trojans' Greg Williams and Gibson have proven to be a lethal combination. Williams has thrown for 1,566 yards this season, while Gibson has 40 catches for 827 yards. Jackson's De'Eric Bell leads the league in rushing yards with 530.
An important game coming up in AAA Region 2 this week will be when Peach County takes on Pike County. The Trojans are currently in second, while the Pirates are in third.
Southwest fell to Carver 52-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
