The Chugiak Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the West Anchorage Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chugiak is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
Chugiak suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Bartlett on the road and fell 73-45. Chugiak has not had much luck with Bartlett recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, West Anchorage faced Service in a battle between two of the state's top teams. West Anchorage fell 64-54 to Service on Tuesday. With that loss, West Anchorage now have a three game overall losing streak to go with their drought on the road.
Chugiak's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for West Anchorage, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Chugiak might still be hurting after the 76-53 loss they got from West Anchorage when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Chugiak avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
