The Twin Valley Wildcats had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 47-45 win from a begrudging Wildcatssquad. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points they have scored all year.
Twin Valley was led to victory by Noah Dornbrgh and Brayden Brown. Dornbrgh scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Brown scored 24 points along with seven assists and seven steals. The contest was Brown's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Brian Sullivan was another key contributor, scoring two points along with eight rebounds.
Twin Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. As for Poultney, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Twin Valley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bellows Falls at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for Poultney, they will play host again and welcome West Rutland, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Rutland knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Poultney likes a good challenge.
