The Weeping Water Indians posted their biggest victory since December 8, 2023 on Thursday. Everything went their way against Sterling as Weeping Water made off with a 52-28 victory. With Weeping Water ahead 35-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Weeping Water was led to victory by Gus Mcgill and Riggs Wilson. Mcgill scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, while Wilson scored 15 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mcgill has scored all season. Nate Tejan was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Weeping Water now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Sterling, they dropped their record down to 1-13 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weeping Water won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Falls City at 7:15 p.m. on January 26th. Falls City is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Sterling, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lewiston on January 26th. Hopefully Lewiston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Tuesday.
