Baseball Recap: Lansdowne Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Lansdowne not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9, 2024. They put the hurt on the Loch Raven Raiders with a sharp 19-1 win. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 10-5 victory the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Damon Angeles and Michael Lambert were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Angeles tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lambert struck out 11 batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season. At bat, Angeles scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Lambert scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Neal, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Ryan Kehoe was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Lansdowne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Loch Raven only posted an OBP of .105.

Lansdowne's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Looking ahead, Lansdowne will be playing at home against Pikesville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pikesville has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.75 runs per game on average), something Lansdowne will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Loch Raven, they will take on Kenwood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
